Visit to the Monastery of Deir al-Surian

Thanks to the help of the Levantine Foundation and especially its CEO, Elizabeth Sobczynski, I visited the library of the Monastery of Deir al-Surian on the 13th  September. It was an incredible opportunity and I am sincerely thankful for it. I spent a peaceful and productive day working in the library, enjoying not only the access to unique Syriac manuscripts, but also the beautiful atmosphere that the monastery offers.

The library host not only one of the most important collection of (amongst other) Syriac manuscripts, but also all the necessary equipment to make the best use of them. I am very grateful to Abouna Amoon and the monastic community for their warm welcome and their kindness: it was very rewarding to work in an atmosphere of cooperation and trust!
